Wansolmoana Connect: Pasifika Youth & Young Adults Reference Group

The Australian Museum is looking for participants to join its Pasifika Youth & Young Adults Reference group, in association with the Museum's Pasifika program, Wansolmoana Connect. This initiative will engage and consult Pasifika peoples (14 - 30 years) to provide valuable contribution towards the development and delivery of a program aimed at strengthening Pasifika cultural knowledge and connection to culture. It also offers professional, cultural, arts and museum experience, for individuals interested in pursuing careers in these areas.
We welcome all young people of Pasifika heritage who live in the South-West and Greater Sydney areas to apply. It is envisioned that there will be a meeting every 3 weeks beginning October 2024 till September 2025. To ensure that you qualify, please review the application details, and submit your application, including a 2-minute intro video, by 30 September 2024. Participants will be paid a fee for their participation.
Applicant requirements
- Applicants must be of or between the targeted audience age ranges of 14 - 30 years.
- Applicants be of Pasifika heritage.
- Applicants must live in the South-West or Greater Western Sydney areas.
- Applicants under the age of 18 years must have permission from a parent or guardian.
- Applicants must commit to attending meetings.
Participant responsibilities & expectations
- Attend all meetings (online or face to face) and provide feedback for each session.
- Be well mannered, prepared and actively participate in session activities.
- Prepare and organise own transport to and from meetings.
