The specific name rothschildti refers to Walter Rothschild, a 19th century British zoologist.


What does Anoplognathus rothschildti look like?

Identification

Yellow to red brown, golden green to rose reflections, except on elytra with light brown lateral and medial markings, sometimes absent; extreme margins of pronotum, scutellum and elytra stained black. Underside green to dark red brown, with strong green to rose reflections; thorax with fine, long, white hair, except for midline; abdomen with very few, fine, short, white hairs, mainly restricted to lateral areas. Legs red brown; tarsi black.

Anoplognathus rothschildti has a pale brown border to elytra. Its pronotum is pale brown with a black border and colourful reflections. It does not have dark patchy marks in the middle of its pronotum or elytra.
