Ages 5-8 years: Tuesday 8 & Wednesday 9 October, 10.30am - 12pm

Ages 9-12 years: Tuesday 8 October, 1:30pm - 3:30pm

In this immersive workshop for young photographers, kids will zoom in on the natural world guided by experienced photographer and teacher Janice Cameron. This interactive workshop is set to have kids seeing the world through a new lens.

Let the fun begin as Janice guides a tour of the Museum’s special exhibition, the 2023 Australian Geographic Photographer of the Year, a South Australian Museum exhibition. See the power and beauty that can be conveyed through cameras, including the images in the Junior Photography category captured by photographers not much older than the workshop kids!

Heading back to the classroom, use point and shoot devices (camera, smartphone or tablet) to experiment photographing static and live insects. Enjoy fun photography challenges set to spark your creativity.

Join us to explore, capture and share beautiful moments in time while fostering an appreciation of our wonderful natural world, through the medium of photography.

Please bring your own device (camera, smartphone or tablet) on the day, as the Museum will have limited devices on-hand to borrow.

Not in this age group? Head to the Photography Workshop for Teens.

If using a Creative Kids Voucher to book, please choose your program carefully as once your voucher has been submitted the value cannot be recovered if your child, for any reason, does not participate in the program. Please refer to the Service NSW website for the terms and conditions for Creative Kids Vouchers and the Australian Museum Terms and Conditions for use of Creative Kids Vouchers.
